Some Good Bits (via TGK): Here’s where we’re seeing cauli-power via social: Sweat with Flo thinks you should be inspired by cauliflower pizza; All Recipes has us thinking ‘it’s just like rice, but healthier!’; Southern Vegan Recipes made some bites with… well, bite.
Read: Eat high-quality fat. Breathe. Move. Just a few ways to reduce stress related sugar cravings. But why do we get those cravings in the first place? Boiled down: it’s the “fight or flight” thing you learned about in health class. Remember? Let me not get in the way of the expert(s)…
Read: It’s no secret that we are a society of convenience. More and more so with each passing week/month/year. And I know firsthand that a lot of companies make very concerted efforts to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact. Why then are recycling efforts… decreasing? “Last year, 300,000 fewer tons of corrugated containers were recycled in the USA than in the year before, even as domestic consumption increased 3.5%, according to the (American Forest & Paper Association).” That’s not just bad for the current state of landfills. Less recycling of recyclable materials means more timber to create new boxes for increasingly increasing demand. Turns out, retailers are better than consumers, when it comes to recycling. Companies and municipalities are adjusting and innovating, but that won’t help if cardboard and paper still end up in the trash. Get ye to the curbside or recycling center with your boxes, people! Delivery ain’t slowin’ down anytime soon.
